Keeping your cat hydrated is important at all times of the year. In the winter, especially, the air can become quite dry which can lead to your cat becoming dehydrated. The winter is also a time when your cat may not feel as thirsty so she doesn’t drink as often. Try to keep an eye on your cat’s drinking habits at all times. Keep her water bowls refreshed with cool, clean water. If your cat isn’t drinking, try to entice her to drink by giving her a snack first or by playing to attract her attention to the water. In the winter, your cat may enjoy slightly warmed water (not too hot though). Other ways to help your cat take in more water includes serving her soft or wet canned food, adding a little water over her dry food, or hand feeding some wet food as a treat.
