If you own a purebred Standard Poodle or other purebred canine then consider registration with the American Kennel Club (AKC). As a member, your dog will be part of the official purebred registry. You will also have access to a lot of great resources and the ability to show in AKC sanctioned shows. Registering is pretty simple as long as you have all of your dog’s paperwork together. For instance, purebred canines are eligible for the American Kennel Club (AKC) association as long as the litter has been registered and you can present the appropriate paperwork. For instance, at time of purchase of the purebred you should have received an individual dog registration application from the seller. This application should be completed and submitted to the AKC along with fees and any other paperwork. Certification should be received in about 3 months. If you do not have the right papers on your dog, ask your animal hospital Bend, OR for assistance.
