Approaching a Stray Dog

If you see a dog that looks like a stray or like he’s lost of afraid do you know what to do? First, is the dog wearing a service dog vets? If he is then you should follow the dog as he is trained to get help if his owner is in need. If there’s no service vest and he’s not approaching you, then try using a low calm voice to see if he will come close enough for you to check for tags and ID. If the dog does allow you to approach then gently do so. If the dog is friendly he will most likely approach you and allow you to pet him. If you’re able, take the dog to a vet or shelter to be scanned for a chip. If the dog is growling, appears like he will run away, or seems nervous then don’t approach. Call the animal control officer or your vet Litchfield Park, AZ.
