Cats Hate Change

In the wild, cats are naturally very keen on their environment. They can detect the slightest changes in the world around them. That’s why it’s not uncommon for your feline friend to be stressed out when there are new people, or even animals in your home. Without any proper intervention, your furball can develop undesirable behavior. Since a medical issue can be a potential cause of sudden change in behavior, your first stop should be the vet clinic. If your cat is issued a clean bill of health, the next best thing you can do is to try to spot changes in your house that you recently made. These may be one of the following:

  • You recently moved into a new house
  • Recent travels
  • Guests, new family members coming over, or even new pets
  • Old family members not being at home most of the time or has died
  • Rearranging furniture around the house that the space becomes unfamiliar
  • Unfamiliar scents from fragrances such as perfumes, colognes or from new washing substances

Sudden changes in your pet’s health and/or behavior should warrant an appointment with your best animal clinic Portland, OR.
