When is it safe to let your dog stay outdoors during winter? Or when is the right time to get them indoors when the weather becomes freezing cold? As a rule of thumb, if you can stay outdoors and withstand the temperature, your dog would be able to tolerate it, too. If you feel that the outdoors is too cold for you after staying for 30 minutes or longer, then it’s likely that your dog would feel it’s too cold too and therefore you should bring your dog inside as soon as you can. If your dog isn’t trained or used to staying inside the house, you have the option of letting him stay in your garage or the laundry room. Be sure to give him a towel, blankets, or cozy bedding. You can also consider buying a crate where he can sleep in. Do speak with a vet Lapel, IN if you have questions and/or concerns about your pet’s health and well-being.
