Dealing With A Dog That Sleeps on Your Bed

Sleeping with your beloved dog on your bed might seem appealing or cozy, but this is not one of the best things that you can do for and with your pet. For instance, you can suffocate a small dog if you are a heavy sleeper. Meanwhile, certain dogs do not like it when their sleeping gets disturbed, and disturbing their sleep could end up in their owners getting bitten when they get spooked at night.

“Area guarding” is another potential problem that can develop. Area guarding happens when a dog is permitted to sleep in a dog owner’s bed, and the dog eventually considers the bed (and perhaps the entire bedroom) as part of his own territory. Biting could happen due to this as well. You need to take steps to prevent your beloved furry canine friend from sleeping with you on your bed. You can give him a dog bed or crate to sleep in or let him sleep on the floor of your bedroom.
