Home Eye Checks for Cats

Part of taking care of your cat and providing for his overall health and wellness is to give him a good lookover every now and then. This means checking his paws, tail, legs, nose, mouth, teeth, ears and even eyes. You’re not giving a full vet checkup. You’re just looking for any visible signs that something may be wrong. For instance, if your cat likes to play outside a lot then he’s probably come in excessively blinking his eyes on more than one occasion. You can help your cat out by taking a look at the eyes. In a well let area, check your cat’s eyes for signs of tearing, crustiness, cloudiness, redness or swelling. The eyes should be clear and bright and the area around the eye should be white. The pupils should be equal in size and the lining of the eye should be pink not red or white. Call your animal hospital Las Vegas, NV if anything looks abnormal.
