Barking in Dogs

Does your dog bark a lot? Did you know that there are different reasons as to why dogs bark? Not all barking is just to irritate you or the others in your home or around your dog. In fact, some dogs bark to warn of danger and to scare of intruders or strangers. Some dogs do bark just to get attention too. Barking really depends on the type of dog. Some breeds bark more than others while other breeds are very quiet even when a stranger approaches. For instance, Beagles and Miniature Schnauzers are popular for their excessive barking. Large breeds like the German Shepherd and Doberman Pinscher are also notoriously known for their barking. Quieter barkers or non barkers include the Australian Shepherd and Golden Retriever (although Goldens do like to ‘talk’).
