Fleas in Pets

Are you aware that flea infestation is quite common because the female fleas are really very productive? By “very productive”, we mean female fleas can lay as much as 50 eggs on a host in just a matter of 24 hours. Many of these eggs will fall off from the dog’s body and this is the best way for fleas to invade various spots of the house. Fleas go and stay wherever the dog goes, and this allows baby fleas that hatch into larvae to attach or stay in nooks and crannies where they will “sleep” (stay dormant) for a few weeks until they mature into adult fleas. Fleas have a life cycle of between 12 days to 6 months, and this lifecycle would largely depend on various factors, such as humidity, temperature, as well as other factors in the environment. Fleas feed on and love to suck the blood of their unsuspecting hosts.
