Canine bloat is when your dog’s stomach fills with air, fluid, or food and places pressure on other organs causing difficulty breathing as well as decreased blood flow to vital organs. This condition is also known as gastric dilatation-volvulus or GDV which is gastric torsion (distended stomach) and twisted stomach. This condition can occur quickly and result in death within hours.
