The Aussie Character Named Henry

Are you familiar with author Kate Feiffer? She used the Australian Shepherd for the basis of her children’s book series called “Henry the Dog with no Tail”. Henry is an Australian Shepherd with no tail. Like Henry, the Australian Shepherd is actually born with a bobbed tail or no tail at all. This is due to the dog’s breeding as a herding dog. A long tail would prove dangerous for the dog as it herds cattle, sheep and other livestock so the breed was developed without one. Some Aussie’s do have a bobbed tail, but it is often hidden under its dense coat. If you love the Australian Shepherd and you have children then you will most likely enjoy Feiffer’s stories about Henry. Outside of story land, Aussies are known to be loving dogs suitable for people of all ages. Consult with your vet clinic Raleigh, NC. Click here to learn more.
