The breed called “Devon Rex” is characterized by their hair coat, which looks curly and sparse. This characteristic is the result of having a gene that is recessive. However, this cat breed requires a certain grooming regimen due to its fragile fur. So fragile, that even the gentlest brushing motion can break the strands. A devon rex’s skin glands also secrete oil that makes the coat appear greasy. These skin oils, though, are essential in maintaining the integrity and health of fur and skin.
