‘Night Crazies’ In Cats

There are instances when your pet cat will suddenly zip or dash across a room at top speeds often complemented by unrelenting vocalization.  Often, she may just dart into a room, all of a sudden stop, and then just look around.  Since it is mostly observed at night, most cat owners call this behavior “night crazies.”  Here are some of the possible reasons why your pet behaves like this:

●This behavior seems to be present in some of the cats that have an illness called Feline Hyperesthesia or Rippling Skin Disorder.  This illness is a critical health problem that your veterinarian must know about the soonest.

●If a cat is not able to reach a part of her body that itches, she may behave this way as well, and then usually with constant purring.

●All that running activity might just mean your cat is trying to burn off excess energy.

If you have concerns about your pet’s behavior, contact your pet clinic Virginia Beach, VA.
