Here’s a scenario. Your cat is already trained to use a litter box. But one day, she refuses to use it. Or she might go to the litter box but not use it properly.
One possible cause for this behavior change is one bad experience. Your cat could have experienced any of the following inside the litter box:
- Either a dog, cat, or a human cornered her in the litter box
- She heard a scary sound or commotion
- She saw something scary or hideous
There could be other possible reasons for your kitty to start behaving this way. You will know that your pet is scared of the litter box if you see her go to the litter box and leave immediately. At times, she might go potty but will not finish what she’s doing. These are sure signs that your kitty is one scared cat.
