Feeding Budgies

Budgies like to eat a different kind of food. In the wild, it eats various foods that it sees.

But if you are taking care of a budgie in your home, you might not have access to different kinds of food. Here are some vet-approved foods that you can serve:
Seeds. You can add this to the bird’s diet because these contain some nutrients. But watch the portion you give because seeds have high-fat content as well.
Pellets. This is recommended for birds since it also contains nutrients. You can alternate serving seeds and pellets to a budgie. You might want to add fresh fruits and vegetables for more nutrients.

Cuttlebones are a good source of calcium so you can give this to your pet. Make sure that there is no grit in the food so as not to harm the budgie.

Some birds will take longer to get used to the taste of new food. You need to be patient as the budgie may find new food to be scary. Take note budgies may not eat avocados, chocolate, sugar, and salt.

Your pet’s diet is one of the important concerns that you should discuss with your vet Bucks County, PA during your pet’s wellness checks. To learn more visit their homepage.
