My Burmese Cat is Digging

Do you own a Burmese or other breed feline that just won’t stop digging in your garden and leaving it a chaotic mess? If so, then you may need to talk with your vet to find ways to discourage your cat’s habit. In some cases, cats like the Burmese will dig in order to make a fresh place to go to the bathroom. Your cat may choose your flower garden or somewhere in the middle of your yard. If her digging becomes a problem, try creating an outdoor litter box. She should start going in the litter box and leaving your yard alone. If this doesn’t work try making your yard more unappealing. For instance, add motion detector sprinklers. These will go off when your cat comes around. Hopefully, the sprinklers will deter her from a daily walk through your lawn. You can also spray trouble areas with a cat deterrent.
