Introducing A New Cat To Your Resident Cat

Proper introductions are very important so your new cat and the resident cat can live peacefully together. An adjustment experience that did not go so well between both cats can trigger aggression episodes.  It could also lead to unacceptable behavior like defecation or urination around the house or perhaps causing the cats to just run away from home.  There is nothing true to the assumption that the same breed cats will do well adapting when compared to differing breeds.  Therefore, the breed must not play a factor when choosing your second cat.

If your new cat is a kitten and your resident cat is in her adulthood, the adaptation could also go faster.  The older cat will assume some sort of a guardian and teacher role to the younger cat, teaching her the ropes. If you have concerns about your pet, schedule an appointment with your animal hospital Marion, IA area.
