One of the great things about owning a cat is that you don’t have to take them out to use the bathroom. They relieve themselves in their litter box. Or, at least, they’re supposed to. If your cat seems to be avoiding her box lately, something’s up.
There are plenty of reasons why a cat might avoid her litter box. One is cleanliness. Your pet doesn’t like to use a dirty bathroom; can you blame her? Scoop the box regularly to make sure it’s clean enough for Fluffy. Another reason that your cat might avoid the box is because of where it’s located. Your cat doesn’t like to be disturbed while using the bathroom, so put it in a quiet, out-of-the-way spot in the house. Finally, it’s possible that injury or an illness, such as a UTI, is the root cause of your cat’s behavior. Call your vet for help.
