Parakeets Don’t Like Noises

Parakeets react differently to noises. Some parakeets are not bothered by loud noises, but some cannot withstand any kinds of loud noise. Sometimes, even the chime of a doorbell can get the bird stressed. Stress is one way for the parakeets to signify their dislike of the loud and continuous noise. In other cases, the parakeet displays unwanted behavior when they hear sounds that they do not like. It is possible that the parakeet will get scared with the sound of a home appliance, but will like the sound of music. It would be better if you can identify which sound is pleasant to your pet. A parakeet may begin plucking its feathers when it is stressed. Another manifestation of stress is when the parakeets start to become talkative, or become quiet, or will stop eating altogether. The parakeet might also prefer to stay at the bottom of the cage, instead of standing on the porch. When your pet shows any of these behaviors, it might be a good idea to turn down the volume.
