Food Allergies In Dogs

While many people believe that dog food allergies can lead to stomach issues, this is false. Similar to humans who experience skin concerns with allergies in food (swollen extremities, hives, etc.), canines can have the same experience. The only distinction is that humans know what’s happening while dogs just scratch their bodies repeatedly.

Food allergic reactions can also lead to stomach issues and respiratory distress. When dogs are having trouble breathing, vomiting, or loose bowels,  they may have allergies to the food.  These symptoms may explain a lot of other health concerns, but having allergies is one of them. Remember that if they are allergic reactions to food, medication intake will not generally ease the symptoms they’re experiencing. The underlying main problem should be treated.

Frequent allergy flare-ups should warrant an appointment with your animal hospital Washington DC. More tips can be found at your Brentwood Animal Hospital Washington DC.
