Indoor Activities To Enjoy With Your Dog During Winter

When winter comes along, your pet dog still has to keep his activity levels up to maintain his health.  Fortunately, there are lots of activities that you could do indoors so that your dog stays physically active during the winter months.

Play fetch

Use foam balls to toss around to prevent damaging your items.  Your dog chases it and takes it back to you, making this your new indoor activity.  If your house has stairs, try throwing the foam ball up top then get your dog to chase it and take it back to you for a workout.

Soft agility activities

Instead of putting up weave poles and hurdles as you might do outdoors, try using chairs and pillows as your pet’s obstacles for navigation activities as you act as his coach while he goes through them.

Arranging playdates

Your pet might have a friend he likes hanging out with when in dog parks.  Try setting up playdates with that friend.  Just make sure your home is dog-proofed and any breakables are stored away as they might get a little too raucous.
