Some Behavior Problems Of Chinchillas

Chinchillas can socialize well with people when exposed at a young age. When they have bad experiences in their interactions with humans, they may exhibit antisocial behaviors. Below are some of the undesirable habits they may display when stressed:

Urine Spraying

Female chinchillas often display urine spraying, especially if they possess a high energy level that hasn’t been expended. They have accurate skills that can easily reach a target with their spray of urine, may it be a person or not. They also show these behaviors if they’re heavily exposed to stressors or if they notice that something that’s threatening their safety.

Biting

Some chinchillas “bite” people to show their acceptance and affection. However, they can bite hard when they feel stressed, afraid, and nervous as well.

If there are any sudden changes in their behaviors, consult a veterinarian immediately.
