Pieces of bread are not harmful to your furry feline friends, but they are not nutritionally beneficial. Thus, this food item should not be on the top of your snack or treat list. You may be wondering why…here are some of the reasons.
Cats are carnivores — meaning they need meat to satisfy their nutritional needs. Giving your cats canned foods and kibble is better than giving them bread because at least, they can digest the carbohydrates found there.
Cats can have a higher risk of having diabetes or obesity when they eat a huge amount of bread. Bread may be low in protein but high in carbs. So, not a good combination for your felines.
Go for a fresher snack, like berries or eggs, to reward your cats. Doing so will not only improve your cats’ well-being but their overall health as well. Happy cats, happy you.
Do consult your veterinarian Carmel Valley before making any changes to your pet’s diet.
