Build a Dig Pit or Search Area For Your Dog

Spring is the season for your pet and you to have fun outdoors. One method to get rid of cabin fever would be to have search areas or dig pits where your pet could have many opportunities to stimulate them mentally and physically.

When you go work in the garden, your dog can help with the digging, just point him in the proper direction. Try setting up a small kiddie pool, fill it with (non-toxic) play sand, and then bury several of your pet’s toys. He can then go and look for them.

A lot of dogs like digging. Offering your pet an area where digging is encouraged and rewarded means that he will not be messing with your flower bed. Try fashioning a ball pit indoors so your pet can sniff out his treats that you would have hidden beneath all those balls. If your dog is not the type who would dig but likes the outdoors, try setting up hide and go seek games where you take some of your pet’s favorite treats, hide them throughout your garden, and then he goes and seeks them out.

Make sure that your pet’s preventatives and vaccines are up to date before outdoor excursions. If you’re not sure, you can call your professional vet clinic Frisco TX for information.
