Senior Cats Can Be Great Attention-Seekers

Sometimes, you may find your senior cat longing for your presence more than usual. Sometimes, your senior cat may become a bit more clingy than before. Sometimes, your senior cat may start behaving extraordinarily, which may make you ask yourself “Is there something wrong with my older cat?”

Do not panic, fur parents. Your senior cat may be experiencing some changes as she feels that she is becoming older. One change in your cat that you may observe is that she will be more vocal. The concept of “vocalization” in cats pertains to the species’ way of communicating. This vocalization is what is commonly known as “meowing.”

When you hear your older cat meow or vocalize, engage in some talks with her and pay attention to her.

Here are other things your older cat may do when she seeks attention from you:

  • Follows you wherever you go
  • Brushes her body against your legs
  • Rubs her head on you

All these things indicate that she loves you and wants your attention.

If you have concerns about your pet’s health and/or behavior, make an appointment with your veterinary hospital Murrieta, CA.
