Post-Quarantine Transition Tips For Pet Cats

You will want to start modifying your quarantine schedule into what you might expect your future routine might go so you can help your pet acclimate to specific times and lengths when you can take them for a walk or cuddle with them before any major changes happen.

Find out which specific treats your pet loves, like toys with frozen treats in them or food puzzles.  If you only offer these treats whenever you are leaving for school or work, your pet will come to associate pleasurable things with your departure, making your pet less likely to be anxious.  You will also want to make your departure as uneventful as possible, right after you offer your pet that special treat.

You could also try putting on music for your pet.  Some studies show pet cats and dogs seem to enjoy soft rock and classical music.  The study also found that some dogs prefer reggae music.

If you recently acquired a new kitten or puppy during the quarantine period, try to be more aware, because pets like these have only experienced homes where there are humans always present.

If you have concerns about your pet’s behavior, make an appointment with your veterinary clinic Marietta, GA.
