Bull Terriers are better housed indoors as they thrive best with their humans. Leaving them alone for too long leads to destructive behaviors. This breed doesn’t do well in cold climates. Use a coat/sweater during winter. When it comes to grooming, Bull Terriers will already do well with weekly brushing. Use a damp cloth to occasionally wipe their bodies. You should brush them more often during shedding seasons, though, which occurs twice a year.
Bull Terriers need 30-60 minutes of exercise and mental stimulation. Take note that some cities and states don’t allow the ownership of these dogs. Do your research on local laws, as banned dogs may get euthanized.
Training may be difficult for these stubborn dogs, making them unadvisable for timid/novice dog parents. Refrain from buying dogs from puppy mills, pet shops, and breeders with no health clearances. Instead, opt for reputable breeders who test their dogs to ensure they have sound temperaments and do not carry inheritable genetic disorders.
A sudden change in your pet’s health and/or behavior should warrant a visit to your local veterinary hospital Washington DC.
