Safe Holiday celebrations with Your Pet

Most pet owners like to celebrate with their pets. On occasions spent with loved ones, it’s just fine to tag along your extra family member or friend—your pet. But do assess whether your pet likes company.

Some animals do not like socializing with humans other than their owners or the people who take care of them. Your pet might be extremely nervous when a guest visits, or worse, at a party with a lot of strangers. It’s best to ask for help from a veterinarian on how to properly manage your pet’s anxiety levels. Giving pheromones or medications are some good ways, or boarding your pet at a nearby kennel.

If you want to keep your pet inside the house while hosting a party, provide a separate and quiet room for it. You can leave the TV on or play some calming music to override the noise outside and give your pet its favorite toy.

If your pet is about to go out with you, let it wear a collar and tag. The ones with microchips that are registered to a pet and contain its owner’s information are also the best. Kindly instruct other people to not give random treats to your pet too.
