Though this type of cat looks like a tiger, Bengal cats are quite affectionate with their human families. They have high energy and a fun-loving, playful side. This breed has a medium to large build and they are known for their richly colored, highly contrasted coat of vivid spots or distinctive marbling.
One thing to look out for the Bengal cats is Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy illness. It is a condition that causes the muscular walls of a cat’s heart to thicken, decreasing the heart’s efficiency and sometimes affecting other parts of the body. If you want to be sure your cat doesn’t have this type of illness, you can have her undergo echocardiograms.
If you wish to have them as pets but are scared of the allergens, there’s nothing to worry about as Bengals are excellent companions to allergic people, though they are not fully hypoallergenic, they are less likely to cause allergies than other cats.
