What Are The Warning Signs Of Aggression?

Furry felines look so adorable and are lovable because of their unique traits and characteristics. So seeing a cat in the park as you take a walk is hard not to get near and pet.

But always be careful and keep an eye out. Cats may demonstrate aggressive behavior toward humans, especially when they are not familiar with you. Your cat may even show the same behavior when she feels threatened. Thus, it may help if you know the signs your cat or other cats are about to become aggressive with you:

  • Body posture becomes tense or crouched
  • Ears rotate backward or flatten on the sides of the head
  • Hissing, spitting, or growling
  • Dilated pupils
  • Direct staring

When you observe these signals, better stop yourself from getting any closer to your cat (or any other cats).

If your beloved cat has shown aggression before, give her time to calm down and feel relaxed. Allow your cat to initiate contact with you, the amount of time, and the quality of interaction.
Any concerns you may have about your pet’s health and/or behavior should be brought to the attention of your veterinarian Rochester, NY.
