Ibizan Hounds are silly and playful and do well around children. They can also be gentle, but most Ibizans tend to chase young kids, especially those who run around. With that, they do best with older kids who know the proper way of interacting with dogs. Teaching kids the proper way of touching and approaching dogs is essential. Be sure to supervise every interaction between dogs and kids to ensure that they won’t do anything that’ll injure/offend each other. Also, ensure your kids understand that messing up with a dog’s food/sleep isn’t acceptable. Keep in mind that dogs shouldn’t be left alone with children.
Ibizan Hounds love to be with their fellow dogs, plus they can also do well with cats, especially when they’re introduced while they’re still young. Your pet cat may have a higher chance of getting along with Ibizans if she doesn’t run. In contrast, kitties and other pets that wander around will likely be seen as prey.
