How To Tell When Your Cat Is Focused

You might have witnessed one of your cat’s focused moments. Your cat may look cute and tiny, but her predator instincts will always be there. Cats tend to be fixated on something when they see it as prey, whether alive or not. Try playing with your cat using a laser. Observe how she will eventually focus on the red dot and will try to chase the dot and get her hands on it.

Some of the signs you will see from your cat when she is focused are wide-opened eyes, narrowed pupils, forward whiskers, and their bodies angled on the object of focus. They also keep their body low sometimes, as if preparing to jump and catch the thing. The focused version of your cat should not make you worry. Just let her explore and enjoy her environment. As long as her adventures do not threaten her life, it will be best to observe.

If you have concerns about your pet’s health and/or behavior, make an appointment with your veterinary clinic Chesapeake, VA.
