Kitties are very clean, and they are generally pretty good about taking care of their fur. Your cat may spend several hours a day grooming herself. While our feline friends don’t need baths, it’s not a bad idea to get Kitty used to be bathed, just in case she ever needs one. Use a few inches of lukewarm water and a shampoo made just for cats. You may want to use a pitcher for rinsing.
Brushing is also important, as it will remove dead fur, dirt, and dander and prevent tangles. Plus, your pet’s dead fur will end up on the brush rather than in her stomach. We all know what happens when a cat swallows too much fur!
Of course, you’ll have to get your pet on board with being brushed. Choose a time when she is relaxed, and incorporate lots of petting and treats, and perhaps some catnip.
Be sure to bring your kitty to your vet Savannah, GA for exams and wellness care!
