The first thing you should do if ever you are using clumping litter is to stop it from smelling. You must keep it clean. At least clean the box every once in a while and use a clumping cat litter spoon. And by this, you can save the rest that is clean for their next dump and change every week or before two or three days.
And if ever you prefer using clumping litter, you may use a big spoon with no holes to clean the litter box and change it every once in a while. By this, you’ll have to throw the whole thing out and change everything including cleaning the box.
