Simple Ways To Keep Your Dog Well-Hydrated

Add some dog-friendly flavoring

Water simply doesn’t appeal to some dogs. Giving the water to your dog some flavor will make it more palatable. Make careful you only include ingredients without salt, spices, or other additions. You don’t have to add a great deal of water to achieve the desired outcome because your dog’s senses of taste and smell are quite developed.

Wet the dog food.

Your dog will already be receiving some fluids at mealtimes if you serve them wet food. In order to make up for the water content in the wet food, a dog who consumes wet food would typically consume lesser water in his water dish. Start soaking your dog’s kibble if you don’t currently provide them with wet food to enhance their water intake.

Giving your dog treats with higher moisture content, including dog-friendly veggies and tiny portions of dog-friendly fruits, is an additional choice. Carrots, pumpkin, and green beans are some tasty alternatives.

Just be careful not to overdo the snacks or your dog may become overly fat and refuse to eat.

If your pet is showing signs of dehydration, contact your veterinary clinic Fredericksburg TX immediately.
