Pet gerbils are some of the cutest and friendliest pocket pets around. And yes, gerbils make for good beginner pets!
They’re easy to care for and don’t require too much attention. They can live in a cage as long as it has plenty of space to run around and play. Just be sure to provide them with toys, bedding, and anything else they need to be happy.
Gerbils are social animals, so it’s best to get two or more of them. They can be kept in either a wire cage or aquarium tank with a lid on it (make sure there are no gaps in the lid).
The tank should be large enough to house all your gerbils, including toys, bedding, and food. Gerbils are very active and playful so they will need lots of space to run around in their cage.
Also, gerbils are nocturnal animals, so they will be most active at night. They can be trained to come out of their cage during the day if you want them to play with you more often.
