Irish Setter Personality

One of the dog breeds that love people is the Irish Setter. These pups are native to Ireland and are known as excellent gundogs. Modern Irish Setters no longer hunt for birds. But they remain energetic, playful, and prey-driven.

These dogs are always looking for good times. Don’t get surprised to find them inside your room – looking into your drawers or running around your living area. Expect these dogs to behave this way – puppylike not until they become 2 years old. Yes, that’s right. These dogs mature slowly like how they learn – slowly but surely.

But don’t worry because Irish Setters are trainable because of their docile temperament. They also love being part of family happenings. So don’t leave them out. These dogs develop separation anxiety when left behind. When these dogs are around, you’ll be warned when dangers are near. They’ll inform you through their barks.

If you have any concerns about your pet’s health and/or behavior, make an appointment with an animal hospital Louisville, KY.
