Komondor dogs are born with soft curls. These curls eventually become heavy and long as the dogs mature. As you may have observed, the curls of these dogs look like the hefty strands of a mop. The coat of these dogs come in two layers: the top and the undercoat. The topcoat is coarse, whereas the undercoat is woolly and soft. Komondor puppies don a buff or cream coat shading, but this hue eventually fades and transforms into white.
Do you need to brush these dogs’ coats? Experts say you don’t. But this fact doesn’t entail Komondor dogs don’t have grooming needs. You may observe the dogs develop their cords when they’re eight to twelve months. When this happens, ensure you keep their hair neat and dry. Avoid the coat to be discolored or dirty.
